Lasik Lasers: VISX ActiveTrak

The ActiveTrak VISX is unique because it features both a broad and incorporates a scanning laser beam. A wide beam allows the first stage of reform the surface of your eyes, while the beam scans do more detailed work is needed to smooth and polish your newly shaped cornea. After a combination of options (known as “Variable Spot Scanning”) rise (soon), the rate of refractive surgery can be performed. ActiveTrak system uses infrared lasers to the video on your small monitor eye movement during surgery.

Many experts prefer ActiveTrak VISX LASIK, because of its ability to move your eyes in three dimensions (not just on the side-to-side and the up-and-down LADARVision, but also follow the track caused by the movement of your breathing, your body if it moves a little in the vertical direction). In addition, operations performed ActiveTrak faster than those done with LADARVision, and no need for pupil dilation from other lasers is required.

Lasik Lasers: LADARVision

LADARVision tracking technology was originally developed in a joint effort between the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Department of Defense Ballistic Missile Defense Office satellites and spacecraft docking. Using a small radius of less than 1 mm wide (smaller than the width of a human hair), a computer quickly move around your cornea in a pattern of small, non-sequential, overlapping areas.

LADARVision 4000 measuring eye position 4,000 times per second and is laser hair with this position. Built-in tracker automatically follows any eye movements and correcting any eye movement during the procedure. This reduces the anxiety associated with eye movements during surgery because the laser and tuning fits in between each pulse, to guide the placement of beams with accuracy.

Some experts believe that video-based tracking system (as used by ActiveTrak) has not proven that the speed they need to be sporadic, jerky, involuntary eye movements have followed, while the LADARVision (available for long) is clear.

LASIK Lasers

LASIK is a type (and very successful) a relatively new refractive surgery (less than 2 years), which technological advances have developed in almost the same pace with the popularity of surgery. Surgeons are constantly mastering new forms of LASIK technology is the increasing number of patients enthusiastic pursuit of the best surgical results.

Excimer laser eye surgery makes this possible because they use a beam of light that not afraid of the heat. This eliminates the chance of damaging the fabric of your eyes during the procedure. Excimer laser is a tool used to cut a flap in the cornea and lifted his eyes (this is done either by a knife known as a microkeratome, “or other type of laser known as the” IntraLase (R) “) excimer laser. Form the deeper layers of the cornea, re- to their original condition smooth, and so back to your vision as perfect (or even more perfect) than when you were little.

LADARVision ® and VISX ActiveTrak (TM) are the two most popular types of excimer lasers. Both breakthroughs in tracking mechanism that is used in LASIK eye surgery, and, like most things, each has pluses and minuses.

Both LADARVision excimer laser is a great technology and ActiveTrak and offers great possibilities in LASIK eye surgery. Talk to all the surgeons with whom you consult, the excimer laser that they like and why.
