Membership
Membership is open to men and women who are or have been a commissioned or warrant officer of one of the seven uniformed services or the National Guard or other Reserve component of those services and their widows or widowers. Annual dues:$15; Auxiliary: $3.

Chapter Background
The Heart of America Chapter was organized in 1956. Today, more than 400 men and women in Eastern Kansas and Western Missouri belong to the chapter.
Chapter Officers
Our Chapter
- Was selected Best Chapter by National for a second year in a row.
- Meets monthly, normally on the fourth Saturday, at the DAV Building, 8787 Old Santa Fe Road, Kansas City, MO.
- Meetings feature a social hour, luncheon for a small fee and interesting, entertaining and informative programs. A free picnic for members and their families is held each June and a Holiday dinner party is held in December. For all events, reservations may be sent by e-mail to Jim Ruth.
- Publishes a monthly
newsletter and an annual membership directory.
- Provides e-mail updates.
- Sponsors recognition programs for area college and high school ROTC students.
- Annually awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors.
- Visit patients at the Kansas City VA Hospital on Valentine's Day.
- Takes an active roll in working with State and Federal legislators on issues of concern to both active and retired military.
- Is vibrant and on the move. Come join us in sharing common interests and goals.
